What is a system?

Publish date: January 6th 2025

What do we mean by system?

By systems, we mean anywhere personal data is stored. Systems can be IT systems, filing cabinets, drives, physical papers, etc.

Mapping your systems in Wired relations

By mapping your systems, you get a structured overview of the personal data you process, who the data relates to, and where it is stored.

It is also possible to indicate which personal data is processed in which system.

First, it might be an idea to import all systems you use in your daily work and processes, in which the personal data is included. This can easily be done via our Connection Hub (located under the 9-dot menu icon on the top left corner).

Suppose you have stated or noticed that a number of personal data is registered with more than one category of data subject. In that case, it is possible in Wired Relations to distinguish which personal data belongs to which category of data subject.
