Product Updates: New and Improved DPIA module
We have updated our DPIA module in accordance with the latest template from The Danish Data Protection Agency and added the option to conduct an initial assessment. Additionally, we have made minor improvements to provide you with even better support in your work with DPIA’s, which can be a bit of a heavy compliance task. The updates are as follows:
-
Initial assessment: Based on EDPB and The Danish Data Protection Agency.
-
Updated questionnaire: Tailored to The Danish Data Protection Agency's latest template.
-
Improved help texts: More guidance through each step of the process.
-
Risk assessment: Updated options in accordance with the Danish Data Protection Agency.
-
Stronger overview: Ability to link the DPIA to specific systems.
It is now possible to conduct an initial assessment based on guidelines from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and The Danish Data Protection Agency. The initial assessment can help identify whether a DPIA needs to be conducted and can serve as documentation before a new system or project is implemented within the organisation.
The questionnaire for the DPIA itself has been adapted to The Danish Data Protection Agency's latest template for impact assessments. This means, among other things, that some questions have been broken down further, allowing more space for elaboration.
Likewise, we have updated the options for conducting risk assessments in accordance with the Data Protection Authority's guidelines.
Additionally, it is now possible to link the DPIA to a specific system or processing activity, creating better oversight across your compliance work.
Throughout the process, more and better help texts ensure that you are thoroughly and securely guided through each step of the DPIA.
Where can I find the new DPIA module?
Once you have the new DPIA module activated, it will be found in the same place as the existing DPIA module. The initial assessment is placed as step one in the questionnaire. Once the initial assessment is conducted, it will automatically indicate whether a DPIA is necessary or if the process can be concluded here. It is entirely optional to conduct the initial assessment or go straight to the DPIA. The intuitive questionnaire guides you all the way.
On the homepage, you have a good overview, including whether an initial assessment has been conducted, whether a complete DPIA has been prepared, and whether there is a high residual risk for the data subjects.
